Опис

Museum of Corruption (MoC) is a transnational interdisciplinary platform for researching, contextualizing and displaying a virtual collection of corruption mechanisms, both in legal and in an ethical sense through practical, theoretical and critical assessment using contemporary museology methods. Aiming to bring back trust to the integrity of institutions and mechanisms of democracy by treating critically the phenomenon of corruption, the project assembles different organizations and individuals from Serbia, Romania and Ukraine.

MoC invites personal ethics to work for the common good.

Starting from the original meaning of the Latin word corruptio, MoC aims to reframe the notion of corruption from abuse of power to the moral inability of individuals to put the wellbeing of the community above their own interest.

The specific aim of MoC platform is to popularize critical thinking about corruption in a modern, visually intriguing and recognizable way, using IT technology, visual communication and info graphics.

For that purpose site museumofcorruption.net  an www.muzejkorupcije.org will be formed to address the needs of various communities and engage artists to work in different formats questioning corruption of /
TIME / CULTURE / LANGUAGE / DATA / PERSONALITY / INSTITUTION

For the corruption of language we have been given several definitions but we have chosen two that described the best what we thought was crucial.

What is the corruption of language?

"Language can be corrupt by prescription of rules by normativists. It happens when that kind of prescription begins to wane too deep into the tissue of the language, when it is based on mismatched logics, poor understanding of the language, incorrectly recognized regularities in the language, when it sticks to things which are the subject of style and the subject of communication situation. When it drives people into saying, that before they say anything, they start thinking right, as it should, and how not, and because of that artificial quasi-correctness they make a compromise with the goal of communication and content they want to convey."

prof. Boban Arsenijević, University of Graz

"Where language stops to be a mean of communication and becomes a deterrent, there one can look for causes and consequences of corrupting the language”.

Valerija Majus Marinković, professor of Serbian language
